This is the room that will become the kitchen, beyond the framing you can see the master bedroom. Notice the boarded up window - the original is right behind the plywood panel.

master bedroom
This is the second fireplace we found in the basement. The trim is from the first fireplace we found in the basement. Zac moved it over and many of us treated it.
The ceiling cavity was filled with wood blocks, rocks and dirt.
second bedroom
These are the basement walls in the master bedroom. Exterior walls were spray foam insulated and the ceiling has fiber glass insulation.
bathroom
View from the living space towards the utility wall in the bathroom. The bathroom location was the hallway that connected the basement with the 1st floor. A new hole in the foundation allows you to go directly from the upstairs to the utility room without needing a hallway.
The basement bathroom completed. All water efficient plumbing fixtures. Here we tested a new type of tile that looks like fabric.
mudroom | entrance area
View towards the future washer and dryer location. To the right the front door of the apartment and the foundation stone wall that was exposed and restored. This use to be a hallway to the utility rooms.
exterior entrance room
The Red Cross had a ramp that accessed the basement and storage rooms. This is the ramp being removed, it will be replaced with stone steps.
Ramp completely removed and excavation begun for new stone steps
Stone steps in place - rail mock up in wood on the right side
